PLANT MATTER KITCHEN PRIVACY POLICY

We are based in London, Ontario and located at 162 Wortley Road, N6C 3P7.

SECTION 1 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online.

Purchase:

When you make a purchase with us, we collect the payment information you give us such as your name, address, phone number and email address so that we can process and deliver your order. When you make the payment for your order, your payment details are collected and processed securely by our payment processor, PayPal, in order to complete your purchase. We do not collect or store your payment method details. You can see the details of PayPal’s privacy policy here, and their user agreement here.

Forms:

When you fill out a form from our application (for reservations, catering or contact), as part of the use of our site, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, phone number and email address, or other details to help you with your experience.

Email marketing (if applicable):

With your consent, we may send you emails about our restaurant, new products and other updates.

SMS (text) marketing (if applicable):

With your consent, we may send you texts about our restaurant, new products and other updates.

SECTION 2 – CONSENT

How do you get my consent? When you provide us with personal information to complete a form, verify your email address, book a reservation, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. How do I withdraw my consent? For newsletters, you can simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-mail. SECTION 4 – PLANT MATTER KITCHEN

Your data is stored through Plant Matter Kitchen’s data storage, databases and the general Plant Matter Bistro application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. If we use transactions, all transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

SECTION 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Third-party disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located. As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act. Once you leave our restaurant’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

Google

We, along with third-party vendors such as Google use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website. When you browse our site, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system. However, your IP address is anonymized before being processed by Google Analytics. Click here to find out about Do Not Track settings in your web browser, or how to opt out of Google Analytics with a browser add-on.

Open Table

Open table uses third-party cookies in their reservation widget that we use on our website. You can disable the use of third-party cookies for all websites in your web browser settings. If you use our OpenTable widget to make a reservation, you will be redirected to their website to complete your reservation. When you click on links on our application, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

SECTION 6 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

COOKIES

Do we use cookies? Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services.  We’ve listed them here so you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies:

  • If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
  • If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
  • We use Google Analytics to analyze and improve our website’s performance as detailed above in Section 5.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it. If our restaurant is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you. Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can be easily be found on the page specified above.
